What is Homeopathy?

Homeopathy is a safe and gentle holistic system of medicine, suitable for everyone from birth into old age. It has been used for over 200 years since it was first introduced by Samuel Hahnemann in Germany. Now it is used by an estimated 450 million people worldwide, in at least 80 countries across the globe.

Homeopathic remedies are made from different substances including plants, minerals and metals, and remedies are usually given in the form of tablets or drops. One of the basic principles of Homeopathy is to treat 'like with like'. This means treating a patient's symptoms with highly-diluted substances that would cause similar symptoms in a healthy person. A good example of this is the remedy Onion (Allium Cepa) which may be used to treat the symptoms of a cold such as a runny nose and watering eyes. Homeopaths use specially prepared remedies, given in tablet or liquid form, with prescriptions tailored to each patient.

The focus is on you as an individual and the aim of Homeopathy is to help your body's ability to heal itself. Its essence lies in treating everyone individually and all treatment is tailored uniquely to your particular needs and condition, ensuring the relevant remedies are selected specifically for you.
Homeopathy may be very effective at treating the symptoms of a range of conditions, emotional and physical. For example: Asthma, Eczema, Acne, Depression, Post Traumatic Stress, Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Insomnia, Hormonal Imbalances, Menstrual problems, Migraines, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Hayfever, Joint problems, Muscular aches and pains, Complaints in Pregnancy and post-partum, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Allergies, Cystitis, ADHD, to name a few.

Homeopathy can be safely used alongside conventional medicines and is suitable for all of the family.
